Kamloops Pilates - What is Pilates?
Learn how to condition your core!!

Pilates is a body-conditioning method that works in a different way to other fitness techniques. Targeting the deep postural muscles, it works by building strength from the inside out, re-balancing the body and bringing it into correct alignment. Pilates is different from other workouts as it helps build the small muscles rather than just the large muscles.

It helps to reshape your body, which will become longer, leaner and more toned.  It will also improve your posture, achieving the perfect balance between strength and flexibility, and is a great way to relieve unwanted stress and tension.

Ideal for athletes looking to enhance their performance and avoid the risk of injury, it is equally suitable for first time exercisers. Its slow, controlled approach means that it gives longer-term results.

Pilates offers both mental and physical training, literally teaching you to be in control of your body. By improving body awareness and focus, tension is released from the body and correct postural alignment is learned.

Private Pilates - These sessions are the most beneficial way to focus on your individual needs, injuries or chronic concerns.  You can use privates as an initial evaluation as well as periodic tune-ups or opportunities to further your personal fitness goals.

Mat Pilates - Mat classes are best for those individuals that enjoy a social setting and who like to achieve a rhythm of movement with the Pilates floor repertoire.  Focus is on correct alignment, breathing and core control.  Don't be fooled, you will definitely need some abdominal muscles for this! Classes are limited to 6 participants.

Reformer Pilates - Reformer classes are small (maximum of 3 people) and are great for those looking to add resistance training to their Pilates workout.  One of the biggest benefits of taking a reformer class is that it clearly shows any imbalances the body may be holding and allows you to focus on strengthening weaker muscle groups promoting all over body balance.
